Description
Comparative in vitro tests were carried out with 14 macloride antibiotics to determine their antimycoplasma activities, employing 2 mycoplasma strains derived from chikens and 7 strains from humans. It was found that a macrolide with a 16-membered lactone was more active than that with a 14-membered lactone. With respect to 8 leucomycins, those belonging to the Ac-group were more active than those of the Fr-group, and leucomycin A3 had the highest activity.
