Abstract
American university libraries develop a growing number of shared print programs: physical or virtual preservation of low-use print resources because of the shift from print to digital, in order to reclaim spaces for active learning. This paper shows key characteristics of shared print by clarifying terms and differences between shared storage and shared print, and also reviews shared print policies. Lastly I will discuss implementation of shared print in Japan.
