Abstract

Recent development of Open Access (OA) is discussed in two parts. The second part describes the newly evolved open access journals inspired by PLOS ONE. Such new open access journals may be categorized into two: one is PLOS ONE clones or mega journals, another, cascade journals. Examples of such two types of journals are discussed in detail. Open Access in humanity and social science area, and Open Access of theses and dissertations are discussed briefly. Open Access of data as well as their repositories are discussed as well.
