We have measured the electrical resistivity, magnetoresistance, specific heat, thermal expansion, de Haas-van Alphen effect, magnetic susceptibility and magnetization in DyCu_2.The metamagnetic transtion has been observed in a wide temperature range from 1.3 to 170 K.The transition field decreases with increasing the temperature up to the Néel temperature of 27 K, while it increases linearly from about 50 K to 170 K.This metamagnetism is similar to that of PrCu_2 and is explained on the basis of the quadrupole interaction.
