The flow induced by an oscillating sphere in a viscous fluid otherwise at rest is analyzed theoretically. The sphere oscillate asymmetrically in translational direction with small amplitude. The steady secondary flow which occurs outside the boundary layer around the sphere is studied by using the method of matched asymptotic expansion. It is found that the asymmetrical steady flow, which vanishes at infinity, is induced near the sphere. The steady drag exerted on the sphere also obtained.
