Abstract

The viscosity of a liquid generally decreases exponentially with the rise in temperature. A simple-kinetic theory of this behavior is given in terms of the momentum transfer by vacancies. The present theory is mainly developed for a simple liquid but the main ideas should be applicable to a general liquid.
