Magnetic ordering in pure La2CuO4 has been reexamined with high-resolution neutron diffraction from a powder sample. We have observed the onset of antiferromagnetic ordering at a Néel temperature of 250 K and a net moment 0.40±0.04 μB per Cu ion. The Néel temperature coincides with an anomaly in the bulk susceptibility. While these quantities are in disagreement with a previous study of the same sample, which yielded 240 K and 1.1 μB respectively, they are in good agreement with a recent work by Vaknin et al.
