Food Intake and Food Preferences of SDA Vegetarians in Japan. Concerning 14 to 16 Years Old Students.

Abstract
A food intake survery was conducted over a three-day period and food preferences test was given to 120 lacto-ovo-vegetarians and 120 non-vegetarians 14 to 16 years of age.<br>The following results were obtained:<br>1) The vegetarian group ate more cereals, potatoes, nuts and seeds, milk, pulses, vegetables, fruits, fungi and algae than the non-vegetarian group.<br>2) Preference for pulses, milk, vegetables and algae within the vegetarian group and meats and beverages within the non-vegetarian group, was greater than in the other group.<br>SDA vegetarians have food preferences that differ with those of non-vegetarians.
