Abstract

Researchers get used to using E-journals in the field of Science Technology and Medicine. This paper reviews some challenges of the Chemical Society of Japan to establish its home-grown E-journals and discusses the effect of E-journals' development. E-journals' activity could give some success such as shortening publication times, but the fundamental evaluation of journals was not improved. On the other hand, science in Japan is in a competitive situation to lead Asian countries. Today we could stress that researchers should discuss the significance of home-grown E-journals again.
