Patent map is visualizing patent information through searching, classifying, analyzing process, and it's an indispensable tool for R & D strategy and patent strategy planning. Now many commercial patent map generating software including statistical approach and text mining approach are sold, however it's possible for us to generate patent map using MS Excel already installed on the computer. This article describes the following three points; 1. Overview of Pivot table which is cross tabulation function of MS Excel, 2. How to generate bubble chart which is difficult to make, 3. Graph visualization of patent map are described.
