Description

Fulltext search method is rather low cost and can improve recall ratio if compared with traditional keyword with the thesaurus. The main stream of fulltext search algorithms are string search, signature file, and inverted file. In the case of Japanese, there are two methods to get indexing atoms; one is by word (morphological analysis), and the other is by character (character N-gram). The ranking search is used in fulltext search system. The similarity between query and document is calculated by tf^* idf which uses term frequency in document (tf), and document frequency of term. (df).
