Abstract

As a life cycle exists about a document or data, a life cycle exists also about personal information. It is necessary to consider management of a document and data according to the cycle. Moreover, there is a principle called the purpose restraint as a rule which pierces through the system of the law about protection of personal information. Therefore, it is necessary to also perform document management by the relation with the purpose from which the document concerned was drawn up and acquired. In addition, although the technical side tends to be emphasized about the problem of document and data management, from a viewpoint of protection of personal information, it is important to recognize that technology is only a means and the purpose is protection of an individual right.
