Description
Three kinds of drapes and three kinds of lace curtains were used as samples to investigate the effects of textural features of commercially available curtains on shading. The internal illuminance at which evaluators are able to percept the visual target placed behind a curtain in the box are evaluated by human eyes at the external illuminance of 0, 50 and 200 lx. The mean gray level m the image (MIU), angular second moment (ASM), contrast (CON), correlation (COR) and entropy (ENT) extracted from the gray level co-occurrence matrix were measured as textural feature parameters using image analysis. The relation between the internal illu ninance and the textural feature parameters was examined The condusion implies that the effects on shading of curtains are influenced by texture features such as brightness (MIU), linearity (COR), brightness uniformity (ASM) and local variation (CON) of the texture.
