Description
Present asbestos analysis methods (JIS A1481, JIS K 3850-1) have been used mainly for Chrysotile, Crocidolite and Amosite. However, it is now necessary to analyze six kinds of asbestos, including Anthophilite, Tremolite and Actinolite. In the case of asbestos in air, the test method using MOE was developed for Chrysotile. The present paper describes current problems in asbestos analysis. It also discusses the results of asbestos measurement performed at sites where buildings containing asbestos were being demolished. Amosite and Crocidolite tended to disperse more easily than Chrysotile, and, regarding the type of building operation, removal and repair tended to cause dispersion more readily than demolition.
