<p>Studies on surface texture evaluation were done using the surface treated with synthetic leathers and PVC leathers. Four kinds of surface treatment agents were prepared for evaluation experiments. Standard surface treatment material was polyurethane resin solution with mat agents, and three kinds of surface treatment materials having modifiers with the different well-known textures were prepared based on the standard one. Measurements of surface friction characteristics for four kinds of surface treated samples were performed after coating the treatment agents and drying.</p><p>Surface friction characteristics measurements were made using KES-FB4 with silicone rubber sensor having some roughness like human fingers. As a result, it was confirmed that the characteristic textures corresponding to each texture modifier and the texture change by plasticizer combined with PVC leather might be caught.</p><p>Therefore, the surface textures of the natural leather and the leather-like products having various uses could be possibly digitized in future.</p><p>Furthermore, it was confirmed that the feel evaluation by the student gave the result similar to the texture evaluation obtained by the expert in the case of the large evaluation value of displacement.</p>
