Abstract
Gujo-Hachiman was improved as castle town at early modern times. There is many of historical town houses, rivers, and natural views. The premises in Gujo-Hachiman are the width is narrow, and length is long. The purpose of this report is to inspect the historical value of castle town in Gujo-Hachiman. I checked some literatures against city planning drawing (scale 1/2500) about length of Townspeople's areas. As a result, there is no change in Townspeople's areas during early modern times. I proved that compositions of street in Samurai areas are common about material of pictures. Ownership form of lands and structures became clear that had various method, exampled rented, including or partition houses.
