Description

The antimicrobial activity of nanaomycin A against various microorganisms and its therapeutic effect on bovine dermatophytosis caused by Trichophyton verrucosum were studied.<BR>Nanaomycin A showed excellent activity in comparison with other antifungal agents, including strong activities against various microorganisms such as dermatophytes, yeast, gram-positive bacteria and mycoplasma; but it was not active against gram-negative bacteria.<BR>The therapeutic effectiveness of nanaomycin A on bovine dermatophytosis due to T. verrucosum was confirmed by topical treatment once or twice within three weeks.
