Abstract

In this study, we aim to clarify the relationship between the characteristics of cities and the transformations of land use right to provide some suggestions for discussion on the land use management's policies in the future in China. Firstly, we divide the change of land institutions and policies since 1949 into five periods and examine the feature of policies in each period. Secondly, we classify 212 cities into 7 groups by Principal Component Analysis/Cluster Analysis and grasp the characteristics of each group in terms of economic and urbanization level. Thirdly, we analyze the relationship between the characteristics of cities and the transformations on land use right. Lastly, we discuss the direction of the land use management's policies.
