Description

In order to find the characteristics of block parks for the outdoor activities of children in day nursery in the commercial district, the results of the questionnaire survey in 2007 about outdoor activities for authorized day nurseries in Yokohama was analyzed. The numbers of day nurseries in the commercial districts in Yokohama city have been increased. The YOKOHAMAHOIKUSHITSU originally authorized by Yokohama city are more located near railway stations compare to the authorized day nurseries. It was also indicated that the frequency of outdoor activities for day nursery in the commercial district was higher than that in the other districts because of their limited playground in the premises. Moreover the result of the survey about block parks to daily use in the commercial districts indicated that 'infrastructure for outdoor activities for nursery school children', 'safety on the way to park' and 'local community' seems to be needed.
