Abstract

A 61-year-old male was admitted to our hospital for evaluation of epigastric pain. His symptom was improved on the next day. Double-contrast radiography and endoscopic findings revealed a smooth submucosal tumor with bridging folds at the gastric f ornix. Laparoscopic partial resection was performed, although accurate clinical diagnosis could not be made. The resected tumor was 2.5×1.5 cm in size, and, histologically, was composed of proliferation of lymph follicles with germinal centers in the mucosal and submucosal layer. With these findings, the tumor was diagnosed as lymphoid hyperplasia assumed a form of submucosal tumor at the gastric f ornix. Postoperative course was uneventful, and the patient has been very well during recent 20 months.
