Description
This paper proposes the concept of "Metro-MaaS", an integrated mobility service for megacities, and evaluates its demand using data from an original web survey. "Metro-MaaS" can be provided by integrating existing services, but it can also be a concept to integrate fully autonomous demand-responsive-transit services and existing public transportation services. Results suggest that respondents exhibit higher willingness to use the service if they (i) feel insecure when driving, (ii) live in places that take more than 20 minutes to walk to from the nearest station (iii) own more than two cars, (iv) have high frequency of trips within 2km, and (v) are full-time workers. In addition, findings suggest that Metro-MaaS can increase the use of bus and taxi, while decreasing the use of private car.
