Abstract

Importance of promotion of the going-out activity in the elderly is increasing to raise quality of life and maintain mental and physical health. The going-out activity is becoming the problem on the city planning in regarding relations with the city space for the elderly. The purpose of this study is to clarify the actual situation of daily going-out activity of the elderly requiring care and the problem about going-out support service provided by the day service center. This is based on the results of questionares given to the elderly requiring care who attends the day service center in Ota Ward (DS). Through this research the following has been identified; 1)The daily going-out activity and the classification of the elderly requiring care. 2)The factors which affect the going-out activity. 3) The possibility and the problem of going-out support service provided by DS.
