説明

A reactor grade graphite pile-irradiated to the total dose of 5.8×1020nvt (Ni) at 30°C was stepwise annealed between 100°C and 2150°C, and was examined to the measurement of internal friction and of dynamic modulus at temperatures from 300°K down to 80°K. The recovery process has been found to consist of three stages; the first stage caused by the annealing between 100°C and 500°C, the second by that in the range 600°-1150°C, and the third by the treatment between 1200°-2150°C. The dynamic modulus recovers for the most part in the first stage, while the internal friction indicates little change. On the other hand, the recovery of internal friction takes place mostly in the third stage where the dynamic modulus shows a slight fall-off. In the second stage everything seems to have a recess. An analysis in the framework of the Granato-Lücke theory has yielded a considerable success in the evaluation of the interaction energy between dislocations and radiation-induced defects. A qualitative explanation for the formation and decomposition processes of interstitial clusters has been given in relation to the behavior of such anelastic properties.
