Description

Accommodative spasm, dominant in school-age-children, is characterized by excessive myopia associated with convergence. Its cause has been still obscure in previous reports, however, we precede to detect organic problems such as pituitary adenoma.<br>We experienced disappeared diplopia after cyclopentolarization with the aim of refractive examination in a girl without any organic problems.<br>The symtoms have occurred, since her frustration and/or change her surrounding. Her visual acuity improved after using trick methods. Because of considering accommodative spasm, we investigated repeatedly her accommodation with several methods. Quasistatic accommodation on both eyes showed normal, however, that on uniocular demonstrated various patterns during her varied conditions. Therefore, we concluded the constitution as traditional accommodative spasm including diplapia on psychological problems.<br>When facing accommodative spasm with convergence as the case, we should not thoughtless-exam and/or- treat on previous experiences. After confirming without organic problems, we should manage the varied conditions.
