This paper presents a clinical and histopathological study of 15 patients in whom nasal T-cell lymphoma was diagnosed as rhinopathia gangrenosa progressiva. The clinicopathological findings are described. Their symptoms included progressive ulceration and necrosis of the nasal cavity and the midline facial structures, fever, weightloss and general malaise.<br>The 15 subjects were classified into stages I, II or IV. In all, distant metastatic sites in skin, lungs and gastrointestinal tract showed signs of tumor infiltration admixtured with infection. Irradiation and combined chemotherapy (MACOP-P and MEPP) were immediately prescribed, but the response was poor and the patients were referred to terminal care.<br>The author proposes that rhinopathia gangrenosa progressiva be considered a stage of nasal T-cell lymphoma. Care must be taken to distinguish this from Wegener's granulomatosis.
