A 64-year-old male, who had had laryngeal cancer and had been treated by irradiation three years previously, began to complain of hoarseness and dyspnea. On examination, entire vocal folds were white and shaggy in appearance, and histological examination revealed hyperkeratosis.<br>Although resection of the lesion was repeated 4 times by laryngomicrosurgery and laryngofissure during a period of two years, recurrence occurred everytime. Finally total laryngectomy was performed.<br>The etiology, histological findings, and treatment of the disease were discussed.
