Description

An attempt was made to carry out a dry-spinning of cellulose triacetate (CTA) filament yarns in a solution of acetone. Mixture of the CTA and acetone was cooled down to ? 70°C and then heated up to 50°C .with stirring to prepare a stable spinning solution. From the solution CTA filament yarns were dry-spinned by using the large?scale, commercially available spining machine for cellulose diacetate filament yarns. The CTA filament yarns thus produced are almost same in their structural and physical properties as the CTA filament yarns on the market, which have been dry-pinned from a solution of methylene chloride.
