Abstract
Effects of some environmental factors on tuber formation in sea club rush were determined. The results obtained were as follows;
1) The planting time of the tubers did not affect the formation process. The time of swelling at the base of aerial shoots and formation of shoot tubers always started with the death of the tops of aerial shoots. Swelling part of aerial shoots and shoot tubers became to be basaltubers after the death of the top.
2) Tuber formation was accelerated by short day treatment of 9 hours, and was not inhibited by long day treatment of 15 hours.
3) The air temperature did not affect the process of tuber formation, but affected the growth of aerial shoots and tuber production.
