Description

We attempted to inhibit Darier’s sign by the oral administration of anti-histamines, glucocorticoid, and dapsone in an 11-month-old patient with mastocytosis. We thus found ketotifen to most effectively inhibit Darier’s sign. We administered ketotifen to the patient for 6 months, thus resulting in a decreased plasma histamine level. These findings suggest that performing an inhibition study of Darier’s sign appears to be useful in selecting the optimal oral medicine for mastocytosis.
