Description

Open treatment on the face consists of a circular excision of the tumor leaving the wound open and allowing it to granulate spontaneously. This non-suture technique is most simple and effective. However, this technique can only be applied to a defect which is less than 7 mm in diameter. We can diminish the size of circular wounds of more than 7 mm in diameter by applying purse string suture and allow them to heal by spontaneous granulation. We could achieve good results by this procedure under the following conditions: 1. the patient was over 60 years old with a defect of less than 20 mm in diameter. 2. the patient was under 30 years old with a defect of less than 10 mm in diameter.
