Description
We examined the effect of high-concentration tacalcitol lotion for psoriatic scalp lesions that are recalcitrant to topical steroid. Psoriasis patients were treated once daily for 8 weeks with high-concentration (20 mg/g) tacalcitol lotion. This lotion was effective for the scalp lesions and significant improvement was observed at 8 weeks. No side effects were observed during the treatment period. A questionnaire administered to patients, the Self-Administered Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (SAPASI) and the Psoriasis Disability Index (PDI) before and after tratment revealed significant improvements after the treatment. We conclude that high-concentration tacalcitol lotion is effective for psoriatic scalp lesions that are recalcitrant to topical steroid.
