Abstract

The 4-year-old boy developed many little red papules on the area from the left eyelid to the temple that gradually changed from red to blackish three years ago. At his first visit to us, more than 50 blackish papules on that area were agminated. During a clinical follow-up of 1 year, the papules gradually increased in size and number. Each papule was dome-shaped, smooth-surfaced, and from 1 to 5 mm in diameter. Histopathologically, the lesion was symmetric, with large discrete nests composed of large spindle melanocytes at the dermoepidermal junction. Those melanocytes that were proliferating had mild nuclear atypicality, but no abnormal mitosis. We diagnosed this case as agminated Spitz nevi based upon clinical and histological features.
