Description

A 44-year-old man visited, complaining of typical, classical type of erythrasma of the bilateral crutofemoral area. He suffered from diabetes mellitus since several years ago. The coral red fluorescence by Wood's light and numerous bacilli in the scale established the diagnosis. We prescribed a commercially available deodorant and antiperspirant spray “Ban”® (Bristol Meyers Co.) of which active ingredient is isopropylmethylphenol. Six days after the onsent of the treatment, scale of the legion and bacilli in the scale diminished almost completely.
