Description

A-74-year-old man presented with a several-year history of erythema and red papules on his trunk and extremities, and hyperkeratosis of the palms and soles. He was treated with topical steroids, oral antiallergic agents, and narrow-band UVB, but showed no favorable response. By the clinical manifestations, we diagnosed him as having papuloerythroderma with Bazex syndrome-like eruptions. Gastric cancer was detected by gastrointestinal fiberscopy. After the surgical resection of his gastric cancer, all eruptions immediately improved. We concluded that the eruptions were associated with the malignant tumor.
