Abstract

A new oribatid species of the genus Fissicepheus (Fissicepheus) was collected from a bamboo plantation in the Kuma District, South Japan. The new species has a chitinous transversal band on notogaster, large lateral notogastral condyles, long lamellae sculptured in its entire length, transversely lineolate mentum, and leg tarsi I and II bearing one spur.
