   若年性全身性エリテマトーデス（systemic lupus erythematosus：SLE）は小児領域において若年性特発性関節炎に次いで代表的な自己免疫性疾患であるが，慢性疾患であることから年単位の外来通院や内服治療を必要とする．病勢以外にも日々の内服の心理的負担や，登校への支障など社会生活への影響，自らの容貌の変化など，精神面に与える影響は管理していくうえで無視できない要素であるが，患児の性格や児をとりまく環境などにより個人差が大きくみられる．‘Simple Measure of the Impact of Lupus Erythematosus in Youngsters©’（SMILEY©）は，小児SLE の患児の健康関連QOL（HRQOL：Health-related quality of life）評価法として新たに作成されたものである．この簡易な自己記入式の評価法であるSMILEY©は，オリジナルであるアメリカ英語から日本語を含めた多言語版が作成され，Cross-cultural adaptationについて検証が行われている．SMILEY©日本語版をここに紹介する．
