Abstract
Breast cancer with cartilaginous and osseous metaplasia is a special invasive carcinoma accounting for 0.003–0.12% of all breast cancer. Some 80 such cases have been reported in Japan. We examined the clinical characteristics of this cancer.
We report two cases of breast cancer with cartilaginous and osseus metaplasia.
Case 1: A 76–year–old woman with a 2.6 cm right breast tumor underwent breast–conserving surgery with axillary lymph node dissection. Histological examination showed breast cancer with cartilaginous metaplasia. Case 2: A 53–year–old woman with an 8.1 cm right breast tumor underwent breast–conserving surgery with axillary lymph node dissection. Histological examination showed breast cancer with osseous metaplasia.
