Abstract

Two patients presented with gallbladder polypoid lesions. The lesions were recognized on enhanced computed tomography as an enhanced elevated lesion during following up after surgery for colon cancer in a 78-year-old man and before surgery for gastric cancer in a 66-year-old man. The findings including high or iso- intensity on T1 weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the lesion, high intense spots in the lesion on T2 weighted MRI, spotty echo-free spaces in the thick wall at the base of the lesion the lesion on ultrasonographic endoscopy, and a continuous mucosal line or inner most hyperechoic layer of the gallbladder wall were recognized in each case. The two patients underwent surgery and histopathological examination showed high grade of inflammatory cell infiltration and fibroid hyperplasia with adenomyomatosis, respectively. These finding could provide information to suspect gallbladder elevated lesions to be a non-tumorous lesion.
