Abstract

A new limid species, Lima ogasawaraensis, collected from a depth of 50 m at Chichijima Island, Ogasawara Islands, is close to L. vulgaris Link, 1807, but the latter has dull white shell with numerous ribs with blunt and straight scales unlike this new species that has snowy white shell with less numbers of ribs carrying sharply pointed and recurved scales.
