Abstract

Chromosomes of two species in Ostreacea were studied. In Hyotissa imbricata, chromosome number of 20 (2n) was counted. From one specimen of Dendostrea folium, 18 (2n) chromosomes were observed. Karyotypes were as follows : Hyotissa imbricata (2n=20) : 14M+6SM, NF=40. Dendostrea folium (2n=18) : 10M+4ST+4T, NF=32.
