抄録

Square wave hydrodynamic modulation voltammetry with a vibrating platinum wire electrode was applied to the determination of thiols in pH 3.0 phosphate buffer solution. The modulation currentpotential curve and the difference modulation currentpotential curve showed a maximum at the potential range between +0.7 V to +0.9 V vs. SCE. The difference modulation current measured at +0.65 V increased linearly with the concentration. Also, the modulation current increased with the number of thiols in a molecule. Thiols except reduced glutathione were determined in the order of 10-6 mol dm-3 with this method. Reduced glutathione gave the unexpectedly small modulation current. The effect of adsorption of protein molecules on the electrode surface was discussed.
