Description
It is important in the field of Landscape simulation and planning to construct a representation of tree shape using Computer Graphics. Tree shape models are useful not only in creating photo-realistic views but also numerical realistic views. The model can simulate realistic forestial space and be used for forest management. Therefore, in order to establish a model of tree shape, component factors were investigated (for example, branches, foliage and stem) of tree shape in a of Hinoki tree (Chamaecyparis obtusa). In this way, the tree shape model can be created based on measured data from component factors of tree shape by minimizing the component factors of the whole tree. Therefore, reproduction of tree shape using the model proved to be extremely realistic. The model can be applied to not only growth models but also time series model.
