Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve the performance of information retrieval by supporting metacognition and self-efficacy. We have developed two chat bots with which users can converse during the information retrieval process. The one encourages metacognitive activities, and the other mainly encourages self-efficacy. We report the results of user experiments that we conduct to verify the effectiveness of the dialog with these two chat bots.
