In Japan, universities with School of Nursing continue increasing during these past 15 years, and the number of such universities as of 2007 is 158. Therefore this study surveyed the input and output of university libraries supporting for nursing education and research by means of the Nihon No Toshokan 2006. This study made it clear that in the national university, the collection was inclined to journals and foreign books. And it was suggested that the collection of the nursing was insufficient. In the public university, the number of the collection of books secured a fixed quantity. And the budget for book and the number of the accessions were enhanced. And the number of the people visiting the library and the number of the book loans stood out. On the other hand, it was clear that part-time staff's ratio was high. In the private university, difference between universities was big in various items, and the percentage of foreign collection was low.
