Abstract

Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) published its Fourth Assessment Report (AR4) in February 2007. Based on updated observational facts, it clearly confirms the actually ongoing global warming for the first time as "Warming of the climate system is unequivocal." As for the attribution, it says more certainly that global warming is "very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic greenhouse gas concentrations." Best estimate and possible range values are now available in projection thanks to more available and advanced models. The climate-carbon cycle feedback has begun to be quantitatively projected with its positive and additional warming effect<BR>Besides, The AR4 also points out related natural disasters: "It is very likely that hot extremes, heat waves and heavy precipitation events will continue to become more frequent." And "It is likely that future tropical cyclones (typhoons and hurricanes) will become more intense." For adaptation measures, more regionally detail projection outcomes are requested.
