Description
Somatic chromosomes of Inula britannica subsp. linariifolia and I. salicina var. asiatica were investigated using the aceto-orcein staining method and fluorescence in situ hybridization with 18S ribosomal DNA (18S rDNA) probe. I. britannica subsp. linariifolia has 2n=24 with one small and two large signals. I. salicina var. asiatica has 2n=16 with two signals. A triploid cytotype 2n=24 in I. britannica subsp. linariifolia was reported for the first time.
