Abstract

A problem of solving an inequality involving a multivariate function is taken up. A multivariate function is assumed to be in the form of a multivariate polynomial or rational formula having a multivariate polynomial as its numerator and denominator. Simultaneous inequalities are also covered. A procedure for solving such an inequality is shown and compiled as the function on3ineq( ) on the formula processing language Maxima. An example is shown for using it to verify its function.
