Abstract

<p>【Purpose】To elucidate the factors relating to depressive state of the elderly needing support for daily life and utilizing the services based on the LongTerm Care Services Insurance Law.</p><p>【Methods】Subjects were the elderly living at one rural city located in the middle part of Hokkaido, Japan. They were certified as lower support levels (Grade 1 and Grade 2 of Needing support), using services based on the LongTerm Care Insurance Law. Interview survey with questionnaire was conducted from May to September, 2009. Effective responses were 33 persons using Home Help Service, and 45 persons using Day Service. Multiple linear regression analyses were carried out by using GDS5 value as the response variable for calculating standardized partial regression coefficient (β).</p><p>【Results】In the case of Home Help Service Users, effective variables were Physical Component Summary of SF8(β=0.37) and Index of Social Interaction (β=0.43). In the case of Day Service Users was not significant.</p><p>【Conclusion】These results suggest that different factors are related to the depression of the elderly utilizing the types of services.</p>
