Abstract

Mosses of Seram Island was reported based on our collections of the botanical expedition to the island. This paper is the first part of our report on the moss flora of Seram. It includes Sphagnaceae (one genus-one species), Buxbaumiaceae (1-1), Diphysciaceae (2-2), Polytrichaceae (3-9), Leptostomataceae (1-1), Drepanophyllaceae (1-1), Sorapillaceae (1-1), Ptychomniaceae (1-1), Spiridentaceae (1-1), Leucomiaceae (1-1) and Hypnodendraceae (1-8).
