Description
The purpose of this paper is to develop the evaluation method for mechanical properties of laminated rubber bearings by nonlinear finite element method considering the volumetric deformation of natural rubber material. Relationship between pressure and volumetric strain of the natural rubber is obtained from compression tests and is introduced into user subroutine of ABAQUS. Finite element analyses of natural rubber bearings that have various shapes are carried out. Numerical results are summarized as follows ; horizontal and vertical stiffness by numerical calculations are simulated with eneugh accuracy. Effects of vertical load and offset horizontal deformation on the vertical stiffness are also simulated well.
